Day 1: Arrival
Your family’s African adventure begins the moment you touch down in Arusha. A friendly Kiwoito Africa Safaris representative will be waiting to greet you at the airport with a warm “Karibu!” (welcome in Swahili). We’ll take care of all the details, whisking you away to the tranquil Arusha Planet Lodge. This isn’t just a place to sleep; it’s a perfect introduction to Tanzania, with its lush gardens and peaceful atmosphere. Settle in, unwind from your journey, and enjoy a delicious meal together. The air is fresh, the stars are bright, and the excitement for the days ahead is palpable.

Day 2: Tarangire National Park
After a hearty breakfast, your family will travel to Tarangire National Park, a place famous for its massive elephant herds and ancient baobab trees that dominate the landscape. Your experienced guide will expertly navigate the park, pointing out giraffes gracefully stretching for leaves, mischievous baboons, and a variety of birds in every color imaginable. This full-day game drive is a fantastic way to introduce children to the wonders of the wild. As the sun begins to set, you’ll travel to the beautiful Marera Valley Lodge. Located in the picturesque Karatu highlands, the lodge offers a cozy and inviting retreat, where your family can share stories from the day’s sightings over a delicious dinner.

Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater
Get ready for an early start as you make your way to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, a UNESCO World Heritage Site often called the “Garden of Eden.” You will descend into the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater, an intact volcanic caldera home to one of the highest concentrations of wildlife in Africa. This is a day of non-stop action, offering the chance to see the “Big Five” in a single day. Lions, elephants, buffalo, and a chance to spot the elusive rhino await. A picnic lunch on the crater floor adds to the magic of the experience. After your game drive, you will settle in for the night near the crater at a lodge we’ve selected to provide a unique and calming experience. The name itself, “Sound of Silence,” hints at the incredible peace and natural sounds that will lull you to sleep after a day of incredible sights.

Day 4: Serengeti National Park
Today is the day to witness one of the world’s most famous wilderness areas. Your journey takes you into the Serengeti National Park, a vast expanse of rolling plains that stretches as far as the eye can see. The name Serengeti means “endless plains” in the Maasai language, and you will understand why as you drive through this incredible landscape. The day will be filled with exhilarating game drives in search of predators in action and massive herds of wildebeest and zebra. We will spend the night at Marera Valley Lodge, which is situated outside the national parks and near the Ngorongoro Crater. This gives your family a chance to relax and enjoy the lodge’s amenities before your final day.

Day 5: Lake Manyara National Park
Your final safari day takes you to the remarkable Lake Manyara National Park. This beautiful park, nestled at the base of the Great Rift Valley, is famous for its tree-climbing lions and a spectacular soda lake often colored pink by thousands of flamingos. A morning game drive here is a wonderful way to cap off your journey, with a chance to spot large elephant herds, giraffes, and baboons. After a final, unforgettable safari meal, your Kiwoito Africa Safaris guide will begin the journey back to Arusha. As you travel, you will reflect on the amazing moments and the unique bond your family has formed with the Tanzanian wilderness. You will be dropped off at the airport for your onward flight, carrying home not just photographs, but a lifetime of cherished memories.
