Tanzania Honeymoon Safari

Home » Tanzania Honeymoon Safari

We have run roughly 600 Tanzania honeymoon safaris over the past decade. The shortest was 48 hours (a couple’s flight had been cancelled and they salvaged what they could). The longest was 19 days, a Kilimanjaro climb plus full northern circuit safari plus Zanzibar plus Pemba Island. The vast majority sit between 5 and 11 days, and the right number for you depends less on budget than on what you actually want from the trip.

This article is a curated catalogue of our actual Tanzania honeymoon safari packages. Each one solves a different planning problem. We are an Arusha based Tanzanian operator, and what follows is genuinely how we describe each trip shape to clients on the phone, complete with our honest take on which one fits which couple. If you want the broader question of whether to honeymoon in Tanzania at all, our honeymoon safari in Tanzania planning guide is the better starting point.

Popular Tanzania Honeymoon Safari

How the Packages Are Structured

Before we get into specific packages, three notes that apply across all of them.

Every package is fully private. Your own Toyota Land Cruiser 4×4 with pop up roof, charging ports, and three row seating with a window for each of you. Your own driver guide. Your own pace. We do not sell honeymoon couples on group joining safaris. We have written separately about why elsewhere.

Pricing is per person sharing for 2026 high season. Rates ease 10 to 20% in shoulder season (January, February, late November, early December) and ease further in the green season (March, April, May), though we do not run honeymoons in April or early May because of the rains.

Internal flights are usually included. Most packages that include Zanzibar or fly in to the Serengeti list internal flights as part of the quote. International flights to and from Tanzania are not included; Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) is the standard arrival point for honeymoon trips.

Short Honeymoon Safari Packages (2 to 4 Days)

For couples extending an East Africa work trip into a quick honeymoon, or for short add ons to a longer Zanzibar beach holiday.

2 Day Tanzania Honeymoon Safari

The shortest package we run. One night in Tarangire National Park or on the Ngorongoro Crater rim, with a full game drive day. Sometimes booked by couples already on a Zanzibar beach trip who want a 48 hour safari taste. Our 2 days Tanzania honeymoon safari page covers the standard shape. From USD 950 per person sharing, mid range.

Honest admission. Two days of safari in Tanzania is genuinely too short. We run it because some clients ask for it. If you are choosing between this and 3 days, take the 3 days every time.

3 Day Tanzania Luxury Honeymoon Safari

The minimum that delivers a real Tanzania safari experience. Tarangire on day one, Ngorongoro Crater on day two, Lake Manyara or a return drive on day three. Best for couples doing a honeymoon split between safari and another destination (Zanzibar, Kilimanjaro, or international cities). Our 3 days Tanzania luxury honeymoon safari is the standard luxury shape.

4 Day Tanzania Honeymoon Safari with Zanzibar

The shortest package that pairs safari with beach. Two nights northern circuit (typically Tarangire and Ngorongoro), then a flight from Arusha to Zanzibar for the remaining nights. Our 4 days Tanzania honeymoon safari and Zanzibar is the entry point for couples wanting both bush and beach in a tight window. From USD 2,400 per person sharing, mid range.

Mid Length Honeymoon Safari Packages (5 to 7 Days)

The sweet spot for most honeymoon couples. Long enough to feel like a real trip, short enough to combine with international flight times.

5 Day Tanzania Honeymoon Safari

Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro, with one night at a Serengeti gateway lodge. Covers the most accessible Tanzania honeymoon experience without the Serengeti’s full price premium. Our 5 days Tanzania honeymoon safari page details this. From USD 3,200 per person, mid range; from USD 5,800 per person, premium.

Honest admission. Skipping the Serengeti on a 5 day Tanzania honeymoon is a real choice with real consequences. Some couples are fine with it. Most are not. If your honeymoon priority is the iconic Tanzania safari, push to 6 or 7 days.

6 Day Tanzania Honeymoon Safari

Adds two nights central Serengeti to the 5 day shape. The first package length where the trip feels complete rather than rushed. Our 6 days Tanzania honeymoon safari is the standard luxury starting point for couples who want northern circuit plus Serengeti. From USD 4,200 per person, mid range; from USD 7,500 per person, premium.

7 Day Tanzania Honeymoon Safari

Three nights in different parts of the Serengeti, plus Tarangire and Ngorongoro. The most balanced single country honeymoon shape. Most romantic add ons (private bush dinner, hot air balloon over the Serengeti, sundowner stops, romantic room setup) work best on this length because there is time to spread them across the trip. Our 7 days best honeymoon safari in Tanzania is the package most repeat clients refer friends to. From USD 5,200 per person, mid range; from USD 9,500 per person, premium; from USD 16,000 per person, luxury.

Long Honeymoon Safari Packages (8 to 11 Days)

For couples treating their honeymoon as the trip of a decade, with time for both safari depth and Zanzibar beach reset.

8 Day Tanzania Luxury Honeymoon Safari

Premium northern circuit plus four nights Serengeti, no beach. For honeymoon couples whose priority is wildlife depth over beach time. Often booked by photographers and migration chasers (peak migration season specifically). Our 8 days Tanzania luxury honeymoon safari is the premium standalone safari shape.

9 Day Tanzania Honeymoon Safari and Zanzibar

The most popular long package we sell. Five to six nights safari (Tarangire, Ngorongoro, three nights Serengeti) plus three to four nights Zanzibar. Hits both the wildlife and the beach reset. Our 9 days Tanzania honeymoon safari and Zanzibar is the package most honeymooners settle on after comparing options.

10 Day Tanzania Luxury Honeymoon Safari (no Zanzibar)

For couples whose entire honeymoon priority is the safari. Six nights Serengeti spread across northern, central, and (in season) the Mara River area, plus Tarangire and Ngorongoro. Singita, &Beyond, or Asilia properties at top tier. Our 10 days Tanzania luxury honeymoon safari details this.

10 Day Ultimate Luxury Honeymoon Safari

A different 10 day shape, focused on top tier lodges only (Singita Sasakwa, &Beyond Ngorongoro Crater Lodge, Mwiba Lodge, Highlands by Asilia). Lower mileage, more time at fewer lodges, more time in spas and on private decks. Our 10 days ultimate luxury honeymoon safari in Tanzania is the most expensive package we run.

11 Day Tanzania Honeymoon Safari and Zanzibar Beach Holiday

The longest standard honeymoon package. Six to seven nights safari plus four to five nights Zanzibar. The trip most clients describe as “complete” without feeling exhausted. Our 11 days Tanzania honeymoon safari and Zanzibar beach holiday page covers the full shape.

How to Pick the Right Package

A short filter we use on the phone with couples.

If you have less than 5 days for the safari portion. The 3 or 4 day packages work, with the honest acknowledgement that you are sampling Tanzania rather than experiencing it.

If you have 6 to 7 days for safari and no beach. The 7 day package with three nights Serengeti is our most repeat ordered shape. This is the one we send to friends getting married.

If you have 7 to 9 days total and want the beach. The 9 day Tanzania honeymoon safari plus Zanzibar is probably your trip.

If you have 10 plus days and budget. The 11 day Tanzania safari plus Zanzibar is the version we book most often for ultra luxury clients. Six to seven safari days lets you stay at multiple Serengeti camps; four to five Zanzibar days lets you actually relax.

If your priority is luxury over length. The 10 day ultimate luxury package gives you more time at the absolute top tier lodges with less internal travel.

If you are a photographer or migration chaser. The 8 day Tanzania luxury package, no beach, in late July to October.

The choice that matters most. Couples consistently report that the lodges they remember are the ones that came in the second half of the trip. Build your itinerary so each lodge is a step up from the last, not the other way round. Every package above is structured this way by default.
