Experience The Best of Tanzania Honeymoon Safari

Tanzania is one of Africa’s premium honeymoon destinations in Africa. The ease of combining, a top-quality safari with the beaches of Zanzibar makes Tanzania one of the first countries to consider when choosing a honeymoon to Africa. Hot air balloon safaris, beautiful tree houses, outdoor dinners in the middle of the Serengeti, and Zanzibar’s beaches, this is a fantastic honeymoon destination and has superb weather year-round.

The choice of your itinerary mostly depends on your budget. There are some mind-blowing expensive lodges here, and we find that some clients want to splash out at points to get that exceptional lodge.  We would like to stress, however, that a good lodge or camp is not necessarily about its level of luxury. The key to a good safari is lodge location, guidance, and character. Tanzania has some seriously good lodges at high prices. Below is an overview of lodges at different price levels and an insight into the various parts of the country special for your Tanzania honeymoon safari with Zanzibar.

A Quick Guide To Tanzania’s Main Honeymoon Areas

Tanzania’s Northern circuit (the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater) guarantees fantastic game viewing and has some stunning camps, some of which are regarded as some of Africa’s most beautiful, especially for honeymoons. The likes of the Serena Lodges, Sopa Lodges, Ngorongoro Crater Lodge, The Highlands Camp, and Serengeti Under Canvas, are extraordinary lodges that offer every luxury you could ever need.  However, they are certainly at the high end of the market Mbuzi Mawe, Sayari, Kubukubu Tented Lodge, Nomads Lamai, Sasakwa, Farufaru, Singita, and Tanzania Bush Camp are slightly more affordable yet still superb camps. However, we use Serengeti’s mobile camps for many honeymoons: The likes of Katikati Tented Camp, Serengeti Wilderness Camp, and Olakira are more affordable, but still with excellent game viewing and are far more luxurious than clients expect!

Our honeymoon tours will include a game drive at the most highlighted Northern Tanzania safari parks of Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Serengeti & Ngorongoro Crater before flying to our exotic islands of Zanzibar for beach relaxation. Cultural tours of bushmen visit at Lake Eyasi and Lake Natron can be part of your Tanzania honeymoon tours

Our Experience in Arranging Tanzania and Zanzibar Honeymoon Safaris.

We love organizing African Honeymoons We’ve done thousands of them, and we’re very good at them.  Our in-depth knowledge and experience of all the different lodges and suppliers (both on safari and at the beach) enable us to work with you to create a honeymoon itinerary that is perfect for you, whether it be remote and rustic or chic and luxurious, and whatever your preferences and budget…  There is a bit more to itinerary planning than you might think; the ‘shape’ of the itinerary is essential.  We like to arrange things such that each place you stay is a little better than the last, so you never suffer that nagging feeling that the last place you visited was better than the current one.

What makes Tanzania such a perfect honeymoon destination is the combination of safari and beach. One of our favorite routes is the northern circuit combining Arusha, Lake Manyara, the Ngorongoro Crater, the Serengeti, and Zanzibar.

The driving routes and internal flight connections mean you can explore multiple regions without spending too much time looking at the country through a plane or car window making Luxury Tanzania and Zanzibar Honeymoon Safaris unforgettable

When to go on a Tanzania honeymoon Safari?

Tanzania is located in the tropics so you can expect temperatures of 25 degrees C + throughout the year. It is possible to visit all year round, but the best time for weather is technically from July – September when the weather is dry and the wildlife is prominent. The only time of year we would not recommend if you are looking at beach time on your honeymoon is in April and May when Tanzania experiences its main rainy season… Not very good for an Indian Ocean honeymoon!
However, if you are just looking at safari, are adventurous and on a tight budget, then rainy season can be extraordinary. Lots of new life roam the parks, the bushes are luscious green and it is a beautiful time to be in Tanzania… And the prices of amazing lodges are seriously slashed. However, there is a reason the prices are less – the wildlife is more dispersed so less easy to spot, it is raining and chances of getting stuck in the mud are increased! But for some, Tanzania’s green season is an adventure like no other.
Our preferred time of year is in the shoulder season months or October and June. Here, you get reduced rates from high season as well as some fantastic special offers. In some cases, you can get exactly the same high season experience a few days into shoulder season and pay half the price! The wildlife is fantastic in these months and the parks quieter as it is just outside school holidays.
Each time of year has pros and cons for each location, so the best option is to contact us and chat with one of our Tanzania safari experts.

Luxury Tanzania and Zanzibar Honeymoon Safaris Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions about Honeymooning on Safari

As a honeymoon adventure, is safari a good idea?

More and more couples are looking for a honeymoon destination beyond the familiar luxurious hotel suites and tropical beach resorts. Tanzania is perfect for those with an active lifestyle looking for a thrilling adventure on the plains of the African savannah but also a relaxing time in the Indian Ocean. What else ticks those boxes better than a honeymoon safari in Tanzania?

What month is best for a honeymoon safari?

Short answer: Whenever you can go, but some months are better than others for certain activities. Long answer: It depends on what you want to do. The calving season takes place in the southern Serengeti from January through March, but to witness the river crossings, you’ll need to travel between July and October. The best times to climb Mount Kilimanjaro are January through March or early fall. The rainy season, especially in April and May, is an excellent time for birdwatching. And while some roads may be difficult to pass, the rates are down!

Is Kenya or Tanzania better for viewing wildlife on safari?

Both Kenya and Tanzania are good safari destinations for wildlife viewing in Africa. But there’s no place like Tanzania – the sheer abundance of wildlife is unparalleled. Besides, Tanzania is home to the Serengeti National Park’s wildebeest migration, the fascinating topographical wonder of the Ngorongoro Crater and Zanzibar’s tropical beaches.
