Arusha - Ngorongoro Conservation Area, 4 hours
Today you will depart to Ngorongoro Conservation Area with picnic lunch boxes for a Crater tour. Ngorongoro is the multiple land use area where Maasai people who are pastoralists share the same Ecosystem with wild animals, the area is part of Serengeti ecosystem to the north and north west is Ndutu area where between December to April is the best time to see Calving of wildebeests and zebras. Ngorongoro crater is the largest unbroken and unflooded caldera in the world, the main attraction in Ngorongoro is the crater which was formed after when the large volcano exploded and collapsed on itself and formed a caldera, in the caldera is the best place to view many antelopes very close and the big 5 but depending on the season. Karatu to Tarangire to Arusha
Breakfast then collect picnic lunch boxes or hot lunch in Tarangire, then enjoy full day game drive in the park.
Tarangire NP is the only park in northern Tanzania where you can view many baobab trees, these trees are known to live thousands of years. This park is home for large number of African Elephants. Tarangire has more than 550 species of birds, it is the best place for bird watchers. During dry season you expect to see large herds of Zebras/wildebeest around the river which is the only reliable source of water during dry season, not to mention other animals like; cape buffalo, waterbuck, Oryx, greater kudu, Elland, Giraffe, Impala, Dik-dik, gazelle and predators like; lion, leopard, cheetah, wild dog, hyena, honey badger e.t.c. The park is also surrounded by beautiful landscape to the south and amazing termite mounds to the north of the park. After game drive then drive to Arusha for flight to Zanzibar or back home.
