You visit Tarangire with its high elephant density and baobab-dotted plains, Serengeti, the world-renowned home of the Great Wildebeest Migration, Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and one of the best places to see the Big Five, including the rare black rhino, and Lake Manyara, famous for its tree-climbing lions, large baboon troops and diverse birdlife. Along the way you have the chance to visit a Maasai village in the Ngorongoro Highlands for an authentic cultural encounter and optionally explore Olduvai Gorge one of the world’s most important paleoanthropological sites where early human fossils were discovered. Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park

After breakfast at your Arusha lodge your private driver-guide meets you and departs for Tarangire National Park (approx. 2–3 hours) drive via the Great Northern Highway, passing Maasai steppe and villages). Stop in Arusha town if needed for last-minute purchases. Tarangire, the fifth-largest park in Tanzania, features acacia woodlands, giant baobab trees, savannah grasslands and the permanent Tarangire River that attracts huge elephant herds during the dry season. Expect to see large groups of elephants, zebras, wildebeest, buffalos, giraffes, hippos, various antelopes primates like baboons and blue monkeys, and predators including lions, hyenas, jackals, and the elusive leopard. Enjoy a full day of game drives with a picnic lunch in the bush before driving across the Great Rift Valley for a beautiful sunset view and arriving at your lodge in Karatu for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Tarangire to Serengeti National Park

After breakfast depart for Serengeti National Park (approx. 3–4 hours drive) passing through Karatu’s high farmland up to Ngorongoro gate and along the crater rim where you can stop for stunning viewpoint photos. Continue descending into the “wild rich” Serengeti with its endless rolling plains. En route visit a Maasai village where a warrior welcomes you shares stories of their semi-nomadic life answers questions lets you enter a traditional boma and performs their famous high-jumping dances. Proceed with an en-route game drive to Naabi Hill Gate for check-in then head to the Seronera area the wildlife heart of Serengeti thanks to the permanent Seronera River. Picnic lunch at the scenic kopjes (rocky outcrops) followed by afternoon game drives in search of the Great Migration. Arrive at camp before or during sunset for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Full Day in Serengeti National Park

Start early at 06:30 with a packed breakfast and lunchbox for a full-day game drive in the Serengeti. Morning mist creates magical light for spotting big cats, lions, cheetahs, and leopards active at dawn as well as nocturnal animals returning from the night. Take a breakfast break in the bush, then head to the heart of the wildebeest migration to watch thousands of wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles moving across the plains with predators in pursuit. Expect thrilling action, hunting, chases, territorial fights, and dramatic survival scenes. A picnic lunch is served in the bush or at a scenic site before continuing exploration. Return to camp by late afternoon or sunset for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Rise early at 06:30 for another rewarding morning game drive in Serengeti with packed breakfast and lunch. Spend time following migration herds and wildlife hotspots before departing with en-route game viewing toward Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Arrive at the crater rim in time for a spectacular sunset watch over the caldera. Dinner and overnight at your lodge with panoramic highland views.

Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater & Return to Arusha

Depart at 06:30, descending 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater for a full morning game drive in this natural wonder, the world’s largest intact caldera. Supported by highland water and abundant fodder, the crater hosts dense wildlife, including wildebeest, giant elephants, eland, zebra, warthogs, buffalo, black rhinos, and the Big Five (lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino, and elephant), often all seen in one day. Predators thrive here too, lions, cheetahs, hyenas, jackals, and the hard-to-spot leopard. Visit Lake Magadi, a shallow alkaline lake with flamingos, hippos, and aquatic birds. Picnic lunch on the crater floor before ascending in the afternoon. Drive back to Arusha (approx. 4–5 hours) with optional stops at Maasai markets or for shopping. Arrive late afternoon for hotel drop-off airport transfer or onward plans (extra night in Arusha available on request). End of services.
