This small yet stunning park lies nestled beneath the Great Rift Valley escarpment and is famous for its lush groundwater forests and abundant wildlife. Keep your eyes open for elephants strolling beneath the fig trees, colorful flocks of flamingos along the lakeshore, and if you’re lucky, the elusive tree-climbing lions lounging on the branches. Today you’ll head toward the world-renowned Serengeti National Park, a name that evokes images of golden savannahs and roaming herds. Along the way, pass through the vibrant town of Karatu and enter the Ngorongoro highlands, where sweeping views give way to the vast Serengeti plains. Once inside the park, your game drive begins in earnest. Watch as giraffes nibble on acacia trees, wildebeest graze in the open grasslands, and lions lurk in the tall savannah. Whether you spot a pride of lions on the hunt or a herd of elephants at a watering hole, each sighting will stay with you forever. After breakfast, depart Serengeti and make your way to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The drive takes you through Maasai villages and dramatic highland scenery. Once at the crater rim, prepare for a truly breathtaking sight—Ngorongoro Crater stretches before you, a collapsed volcanic caldera teeming with life. Descend 600 meters to the floor below, where you’ll find one of the highest densities of wildlife in Africa. Keep your camera ready for close encounters with rhinos, lions, zebras, and flamingos as you explore this UNESCO World Heritage Site.
