Day 1: Arrival in Arusha and a Warm Tanzanian Welcome
After your flight lands at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), the excitement begins. A friendly representative from Kiwoito Africa Safaris will be there to greet you with a warm “Karibu Tanzania” (Welcome to Tanzania). We will handle your luggage and drive you to Arusha Planet Lodge, a serene and inviting haven just outside the bustling city. Here, you can settle in, relax by the pool, and soak up the anticipation of the days to come. A delicious dinner awaits, prepared with fresh local ingredients, allowing you to get a first taste of Tanzanian hospitality and cuisine before a restful night’s sleep.

Day 2: Tarangire National Park
Today, the real adventure begins. Following a hearty breakfast, your professional Kiwoito safari guide will drive you to Tarangire National Park, a place famous for its massive elephant herds and ancient baobab trees. The journey itself is part of the experience, offering views of the Tanzanian countryside and local life. As you enter the park, you’ll feel the air change, alive with the sounds of the bush. Your first game drive will take you through a landscape of rolling savannah and towering baobabs, where you might spot a family of elephants drinking from a watering hole, giraffes gracefully foraging, and countless other animals. After an exhilarating day of wildlife viewing, we will head to Baghayo Garden Suites, your comfortable and charming home for the next two nights, for dinner and relaxation.

Day 3: Lake Manyara National Park
After breakfast, we will make a short drive to Lake Manyara National Park, a jewel of a park nestled at the foot of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. Despite its smaller size, Manyara is incredibly diverse. The park’s main feature is the shallow, soda-rich lake, often painted pink with thousands of flamingos. The dense groundwater forest is a world of its own, home to blue monkeys and a vast number of bird species. Your guide will drive you through this unique landscape, where you might be lucky enough to see the famous tree-climbing lions the park is known for, or witness a large herd of elephants moving through the acacia woodlands. You will spend another comfortable evening at Baghayo Garden Suites, sharing stories of the day’s sightings.

Day 4-6: Serengeti National Park
The next three days are dedicated to the world-renowned Serengeti National Park. The drive from Manyara to the Serengeti is a spectacle in itself, offering a chance to see the landscape transform and local Maasai villages dotting the plains. Upon arrival, you will understand why “Serengeti” means “endless plains” in the Maasai language. This is a place of immense scale and breathtaking beauty, a sanctuary for millions of animals.
The Serengeti offers a different experience each day, and your Kiwoito guide, with their deep local knowledge, will expertly navigate the plains to find the best wildlife viewing opportunities. You will spend your days searching for the “Big Five” (lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and buffalo), watching prides of lions lounging in the sun, cheetahs stalking their prey, and the majestic migration of wildebeest and zebras (depending on the time of year). Each game drive is a new adventure, a discovery of the intricate dramas of the animal kingdom. The Serengeti is also a birdwatcher’s paradise, with a vibrant array of species to be found.
For your stay, the Sound of Silence tented camp provides an immersive and intimate safari experience. Here, you are truly a part of the wilderness. Imagine falling asleep to the distant call of a hyena or the roar of a lion under a canopy of stars. It’s a feeling of connection to nature that you’ll carry with you forever. Day 7: The Ngorongoro Crater
On your final full day, we head to the magnificent Ngorongoro Conservation Area. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is a spectacular natural wonder, a vast caldera formed by a collapsed volcano. The views from the crater rim are simply breathtaking. After a scenic drive, you will descend into the crater floor, which is a self-contained ecosystem teeming with an incredible concentration of wildlife. It’s one of the few places in Africa where you have an excellent chance of seeing the critically endangered black rhino. You will have a full game drive within the crater, observing predators and herbivores coexisting in this extraordinary natural bowl. Following this incredible final safari, we will drive to Marera Valley Lodge for a farewell dinner and your final night in Tanzania, a time to reflect on the week’s amazing experiences. The next morning, we will provide a seamless transfer to the airport for your journey home, with a heart full of memories and a longing to return.
