9 Days Tanzania Standard Safari Overview

Our Everywhere Adventure Safari is designed for travelers who want to experience everything Tanzania has to offer—from world-famous wildlife destinations to rich cultural encounters and breathtaking landscapes. This itinerary takes you on an unforgettable journey filled with the sights, sounds, and wonders of nature.

Experience the legendary Serengeti National Park, voted the Best National Park in Africa, where every game drive feels like a front-row seat to nature’s greatest show. Depending on your travel dates, you may also witness the Great Wildebeest Migration between December and March, one of the world’s most spectacular wildlife events.

Your safari continues to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, home to the iconic Ngorongoro Crater. Often described as a natural amphitheater or a “giant bowl of wildlife,” the crater offers some of the best game viewing in East Africa, with a high chance of spotting the Big Five.

A visit to Lake Eyasi offers a completely different and deeply enriching experience. This region is home to unique tribes such as the Hadzabe (Bushmen), Datoga, and Barbaig, who still live traditional lifestyles passed down for generations. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to interact with these communities, learn about their culture, and see their daily activities up close—adding an unforgettable cultural dimension to your safari.

Your adventure also takes you to the striking landscapes of Lake Natron, one of Tanzania’s most extraordinary natural wonders. This region is dominated by Ol Doinyo Lengai, the country’s only active volcano and a sacred mountain to the Maasai. You can choose to climb Ol Doinyo Lengai or enjoy scenic walks around the base—simply let us know, and we will arrange the trek for you.

The remote Engaresero village, surrounded by dramatic mountains and rolling hills, offers stunning viewpoints and many exciting activities, including nature walks, game viewing, cultural tours, and more. Its serene environment makes it an ideal stop for adventure lovers, photographers, and anyone looking to truly connect with nature.

Lake Natron is a destination you should never miss when visiting Tanzania—its landscapes, wildlife, and cultural richness make it one of the most unique places in East Africa.

Day 2: Arusha - Lake Natron

After breakfast, drive to Lake Natron for activities.

On the way, enjoy the wonderful and awesome view of Oldonyo Lengai (the Mountain of God), the only active mountain in Tanzania. In the evening, enjoy the sunset dinner and stay overnight at Lake Natron Safari Lodge.

Lake Natron is a mineral-rich soda lake in northern Tanzania, at the border with Kenya. Natron is a breeding ground for hundreds of thousands of lesser flamingos, despite the highly alkaline state of the striking red waters. It sits below Ol Donyo Lengai, a soaring, active volcano in the Rift Valley. Trails lead from the lake to the EngeroSero waterfalls, which flow over craggy rocks into a natural pool.

The name Serengeti, derived from the Maasai word *Siringeti*, means endless plains due to the southern grass plains, which seem to end with the scene of the concentration of wildebeest and zebras during the great migration. This park is famous and one of the largest national parks in Tanzania, with an area of 14,763 square km. Serengeti is home to an abundance of wildlife and is one of the few parks where you can spot the big five and many carnivores together with birds of prey. Enjoy the day on the plains of Serengeti National Park.

Day 5: Serengeti National Park Full Day

Full-day game drive in the Serengeti Plains.

Dinner and overnight at Into Wild, full board.

Day 6: Serengeti - Ngorongoro Crater

Heading to Ngorongoro for a safari game drive down the crater floor, then late afternoon on your way to Karatu for dinner and overnight at MARERA VALLEY LODGE Full board

Ngorongoro is a multiple land use area where the Maasai, who are pastoralists, share the same ecosystem with wild animals. The area is part of the Serengeti ecosystem in the north and northwest of the Ndutu region, where between December and April is the best time to see the calving of wildebeest and zebras. The Ngorongoro Crater is the largest unbroken and non-flooded caldera in the world. The main attraction of Ngorongoro is the crater, which formed after the large volcano exploded, collapsed on itself, and formed a caldera. In the caldera, it is the best place to see many antelopes very close and the big five animals, depending on the season

Day 7: Karatu - Lake Eyasi

Early morning before breakfast, drive to the bush for hunting with the Hadzabe tribe, have bush breakfast, and then back to the lodge for an early lunch. After a hot lunch, drive to Serengeti National Park, followed by a game drive en route heading to the camp. At last! Serengeti, the incomparable wonder of Tanzania, will be the stage for the natural animal theatrics that will be performed over the next few days. Your game drive here combines the known with the unknown—the certainty that you will be amazed by the uncertainty of exactly what you will see and when. Changing light, a changing cast of animal actors, ensuring that at every turn there is a new experience. Snap off some memorable photos, but don’t forget to simply take a deep breath and enjoy nature in its real-time, raw beauty.

Dinner and overnight at Lake Eyasi Safari Lodge

Day 8: Lake Eyasi- Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, followed by a drive to Tarangire National Park for a day game drive in the park, dinner, and a night at Lake Burunge Tented Lodge Tarangire is one of the best parks in Tanzania and offers some extraordinary sights. Normally, in the dry seasons, the Tarangire River becomes a reliable water solution for many animals, which is a permanent source of water.
Tarangire is known and famous for large elephant concentrations, baobab trees, and beautiful landscapes. You expect to see heads of buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, hippos, baboons, and many antelopes. For bird watchers, Tarangire is the place where over 400 bird species have been recorded in this park, which includes rare species like Greater Kudu, wild dogs, and fringed-eared oryxes.
