Day by day

Day 1: Arrival and Rest in Arusha

Your adventure begins the moment you touch down at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO). A friendly Kiwoito Africa Safaris representative will be there to greet you with a warm “Karibu Tanzania!” (Welcome to Tanzania!) and a comfortable private vehicle for your transfer to Forest Hill Lodge. This peaceful retreat, nestled in the green foothills of Mount Meru, offers the perfect environment to unwind and acclimate after your flight. Take a moment to relax by the pool, stroll through the gardens, and enjoy your first delicious Tanzanian dinner as you prepare for the incredible days ahead.

Day 2: Tarangire National Park

Breakfast and meet your guide and drive to Tarangire national park. Visit the rare baobab woodlands and large herds of elephants in the park. There are lions and leopards, and more than 400 species of birds. A full day game drive, then spend the night in Baghayo Garden Suites where you have dinner and lodge amenities

Day 3: Lake Manyara National Park

Pass by Ngorongoro Conservation Area on the way to the Serengeti. Three days of exploring its huge plains in the morning and afternoon game drives. Spot lions, cheetahs, elephants, giraffes and seasonal migrations of wildebeest and Zebras. Sound of Silence Camp evenings offer tented comfort including campfires and wilderness sound.

Day 4–6: Serengeti National park

Leave Serengeti to Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Very early the next day, descend into the crater to play a game drive. The crater has a high concentration of wildlife and is therefore an opportunity to view the Big Five including the elusive black rhino. Dine and stay at Marera Valley Lodge.

Day 7: Ngorongoro Crater

On this day, we’ll depart the Serengeti and head towards the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The main event is the descent into the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site often called “Africa’s Eden.” This natural caldera is a self-contained ecosystem, a haven for an incredible concentration of animals. The high density of wildlife, including the rare black rhinoceros, makes for an unforgettable game-viewing experience. You’ll spend the day exploring the crater floor, surrounded by stunning scenery and the sheer abundance of life. Afterward, you’ll ascend the crater rim and drive to Marera Valley Lodge, where you can enjoy breathtaking views and the peaceful atmosphere of the highlands.

Day 8–9: Arusha, and Farewell

Your final full day in Tanzania offers a last chance to appreciate the beautiful landscape. We will have a relaxed morning at Marera Valley Lodge before a scenic drive back toward Arusha. You’ll have an opportunity to participate in optional activities around Arusha, such as a coffee tour, a visit to a local market, or exploring the vibrant town itself. This is a chance to interact with the local culture and pick up some souvenirs. On your final morning, after a leisurely breakfast, we will ensure you are transferred to Kilimanjaro International Airport with plenty of time for your flight home, carrying with you a lifetime of memories from the heart of Africa.
