Day by day

Day 1: Arrival Day

Upon arriving at Kilimanjaro International Airport. Clear airport formalities, then meet and greet with a Kiwoito representative before transferring to Arusha for dinner and overnight. Enjoy the view of Mount Kilimanjaro while the weather permits.

Day 2: Arusha National Park

Depart for Arusha National Park for a day of game drives and guided walks with an armed ranger. Arusha National Park is all about the scenery, so take in Mt Meru and explore the lost world of Ngurdoto Crater. Zebras, buffaloes, and giraffes will also be on display.

Join us on a walking safari during this MID-RANGE SAFARI, where you’ll experience the thrill of venturing out into the African wilderness with an expert guide. Although you will not be watching the animals from a vehicle, it is still very safe, and it is a priceless opportunity to feel truly connected to the animals you will see and the landscapes you will explore in a completely new way.

Day 3: Maasai Lodge - Lake Natron

Drive to Lake Natron via Longido, then enjoy afternoon activities such as bird watching (water birds), sunset, and swimming.

You’ll visit Lake Natron, a massive Rift Valley lake in Tanzania’s far north, near the Kenyan border. The lake is well-known for its natural beauty and flamingo population. Another highlight of your visit will be the breathtaking views of Ol Doinyo Lengai, the volcano that rises above the lake’s southern shore.

Day 4: Lake Natron Full Day

Full-day activities at Lake Natron include sunrise viewing and a cultural tour of the Masai village. When you stay at Africa Safari Lake Natron, you’ll have breathtaking views of the volcano Ol Doinyo Lengai from almost every angle. The views, including those from the swimming pool, are among the best in the area.

Day 5: Lake Natron - Serengeti National Park

Depart to Serengeti national park followed by afternoon game drive in the park.

You won’t find many better national parks in Africa than the Serengeti, which has few rivals when it comes to both the numbers and variety of animals. Track down the annual migration of wildebeest and zebra. Enjoy the vast horizons that are perfect for spotting predators (especially lions, leopards, cheetahs, and spotted hyenas) and their prey (buffaloes, impalas, and kongoni), as well as elephants and giraffes. If you’re really lucky, you’ll see a hunt, one of the most exhilarating sights anywhere in the wild. And at every turn, revel in its beauty, with flat-topped acacia trees silhouetted against the setting sun and so many other classic African safari images.

Day 6: Serengeti Full Day

Full-day game drive in the Serengeti National Park. Spend another day in the Serengeti watching its wildlife and exploring its many landscapes.

Day 7: Serengeti Full Day

You’ll enjoy the safari experience of a lifetime on your guided game drive through Serengeti National Park. A guide will help you look for big cats, elephants and more as you drive through so many classic safari landscapes.

Day 8: Serengeti - Ngorongoro Crater

Descend to Ngorongoro for a safari down the crater floor.

You’ll discover why the magical Ngorongoro is unlike anywhere else in Africa. Cloud forests surround the crater rim, and the view out across the caldera of this former volcano, aside from the altitude, will leave you gasping for air. Your drive down a steep trail takes you to the crater floor, where a unique wildlife offering adds to the overall beauty of the experience. The crater floor’s sunken ecosystem is home to hyenas, lions, elephants, black rhinos, and hippos. An ecosystem that has developed in the crater over millennia since the volcano unleashed its destructive fury on the land. It could be one of your best safari experiences ever.

Day 9: Karatu - Lake Manyara National Park

Depart to Lake Manyara national park for the day game drive around the Lake’s shores. The park is famous for its elephants and tree-climbing lions, and we hope you’ll see both.

Lake Manyara National Park will allow you to tick off so many unique safari highlights, including many that you just won’t find elsewhere. Unlike the elephants you’ll see in other parks, Lake Manyara’s inhabit dense forest – there’s nothing quite like your experience of an elephant suddenly emerging from behind the nearest tree. Also, you’re just as likely to see lions here draped along a branch high in a tree as down on the ground. And baboons. Lots of baboons. The views you’ll see here, too, persist in your memory long after you’ve returned home, thanks to the combination of lake, forest and sheer cliffs, all within just a few kilometres.

Day 10: Lake Manyara - Tarangire National Park

Head to Tarangire national park followed by day game drive in the park.

Wherever you go in Tarangire National Park, you’ll come across the park’s famous and larger-than-life baobab trees and elephants. These are the twin elements that give this park so much personality. There is, of course, so much more. We don’t just mean the huge populations of wildebeest, giraffes, hippos, buffaloes, baboons, vervet monkeys and zebras. Or the rugged landscape of rocky hills and rivers, swamps and savannah plains. You also have an excellent chance of seeing lions here – Tarangire is a real lion stronghold – and keep an eye out for leopards and cheetahs as well
