The 5-day last-minute safari is perfect when a person is willing to start an adventure. Discover the elephants and baobabs of Tarangire National Park, the central and northern plains of the Serengeti with its large numbers of predators and grazing animals, and finally the wildlife diversity of Ngorongoro Crater, including black rhinos. This provides them with comfortable lodges and professional guides to have a smooth and exciting safari experience.
Begin your safari with a scenic drive into the Tarangire National park; with its towering baobab trees and massive herds of elephants. Take an afternoon game drive through the open plains and riverine forests, and see giraffes, zebras, lions, and colorful birds. Finish the day in Marera Valley Lodge, under African night sky.
Go to the Serengeti and stay at Sound of Silence Camp. Spend the afternoon exploring the wide plains and see the wildebeest, zebras, lions and cheetahs in their natural habitat. The open terrain has unequalled photographic potential and a feeling of wilderness.
Explore the northern part of the Serengeti which is the home to dramatic landscapes and rare wildlife. Follow prides of lions and, hopefully, see wild dogs that are hard to see. The camp gives a soothing respite following the exciting game drives, striking a balance between adventure and relaxing.
Drive across the hills and country districts to the Ngorongoro Highlands. Re-enter Marera Valley Lodge and spend some time in cool climate, beautiful scenery, and a good sleep before the day of exploration.
Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater – back to Arusha – End of safari
Go down to the Ngorongoro Crater, where a phenomenal concentration of wild animals can be found. Spot elephants, buffalo, black rhinos, leopards and flamingos at the crater lakes. End your last-minute adventure in the Tanzanian safari with a morning of unforgettable game drives before going back to Arusha.
