Day 1: Arusha (1400 m) – Miriakamba Hut (2500 m)

 

First day of your 4 Days Mount Meru Trekking after early morning breakfast in Arusha (1400 m), you will be picked up from your hotel and brought to the Momella Gate in Arusha National Park. At this time, the porters will organize and pack the belongings for the hike while you and your guide register with the Tanzania National Park (TANAPA). You will then begin your ascent in Arusha National Park. The first day of hiking is similar to a walking safari; you should expect to see giraffes, zebras, antelope, buffalo, and potentially elephants near the trail. Due to the high possibility of spotting wildlife, an armed ranger hired through the National Park is required to hike with our team for the duration of the hike. As you continue hiking, you will pass the Ngarenanyuki River and a beautiful waterfall at the base of Mt. Meru. Upon arriving at Miriakamba Hut (2500 m), your chef will prepare a hot dinner and provide washing water for you. Enjoy the beautiful sunset and overnight.

Heading to Ngorongoro for a safari game drive down the crater floor, then late afternoon on your way to Karatu for dinner and overnight at Eileen’s Trees Inn, on an all-inclusive basis.

Ngorongoro is a multiple-use area where the Maasai, who are pastoralists, share the same ecosystem with wild animals; the area is part of the Serengeti ecosystem in the north and northwest of the Ndutu region, where between December and April is the best time to see the calving of wildebeest and zebras.

The Ngorongoro Crater is the largest unbroken and non-flooded caldera in the world; the main attraction of Ngorongoro is the crater, which formed after the large volcano exploded and collapsed on itself and forming a caldera.

Day 4: Miriakamba Hut (2500 m) – Arusha (1400 m)

After a long rest and breakfast, we will begin our final descent to Momella Gate. We will hike through forests and meadows where it is likely to spot wildlife.

After breakfast, drive to Tarangire National Park for a game drive, then head to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Tarangire, one of Tanzania’s premier parks, is renowned for its unique features. The Tarangire River, a perennial water source, attracts a diverse range of wildlife, making it a must-see destination.

Tarangire is known and famous for its large elephant concentration, baobab trees, and beautiful landscapes; you expect to see heads of buffalo, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, hippos, baboons, and antelopes. For bird watchers, Tarangire is where over 400 bird species have been recorded in this park, including rare species of the rareanimals like Greater Kudu, wild dogs, and fringed fringed-eared Oryx, which are also among therare animal species.
