Day 1: Marangu Gate to Mandara Huts (2720m)
Your adventure commences with a scenic drive to the Kilimanjaro National Park Gate, situated at 1970 meters. Upon arrival, we will complete the necessary registration procedures. Following this, you will embark on a captivating hike through the lush rainforest, ascending towards the Mandara Huts, which stand at an elevation of 2720 meters. A recommended side excursion involves exploring the Maundi Crater, which offers breathtaking panoramic views of northern Tanzania and Kenya. During this hike, keep an eye out for Colobus monkeys, towering trees, and diverse birdlife that inhabit the rainforest. You will then enjoy an overnight stay at Mandara Huts, experiencing the tranquility of the mountain.

Day 2: Mandara Huts - Visit Maundi Crater Then Descent
On the second day, hikers have two options. For seasoned hikers, an early morning ascent towards Horombo Huts, located at 3700 meters, is recommended. This hike offers spectacular views of the Kibo and Mawenzi peaks. For those seeking a less strenuous hike, enjoying the area surrounding Mandara Huts and preparing for the descent is a suitable alternative. Regardless of the chosen option, the day culminates with a descent through the moorlands and rainforest, retracing the path back to the Marangu Gate. From there, a transfer will be provided back to Arusha or Moshi.
