Day by day
Day 1: Welcome to Arusha - Arrival
Your Tanzanian adventure begins as you arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO). A friendly Kiwoito Africa Safaris representative will be waiting to greet you with a warm smile and assist with your luggage. A short, scenic drive brings you to the peaceful Arusha Planet Lodge, a tranquil oasis on the outskirts of Arusha. Here, you can settle in, relax by the pool, and soak up the anticipation of the days ahead. The evening is yours to enjoy a delicious dinner and a restful night’s sleep, preparing for the excitement that awaits you.

Day 2: Tarangire National Park
After a hearty breakfast, your safari vehicle will be ready to take you to Tarangire National Park, a place famous for its colossal baobab trees and huge herds of elephants. The landscape here is truly magnificent, with rolling savannah and the Tarangire River acting as a lifeline for countless animals, especially during the dry season. Your experienced guide, a local with a deep passion for the wildlife, will share their knowledge and stories as you drive. You’ll spend the day in search of lions, leopards, and a spectacular array of birds, all while surrounded by the beauty of this unique ecosystem. As the sun begins to set, you’ll travel to the lovely Marera Valley Lodge for dinner and a well-deserved rest.

Day 3: Serengeti National Park
Today, the true magic of Africa unfolds as you make your way to the world-renowned Serengeti National Park. The journey itself is a game drive, offering a first glimpse of the vast plains that stretch as far as the eye can see. This is the heart of Tanzania’s wildlife spectacle. Your days here will be filled with thrilling game drives, tracking the “Big Five” and witnessing the incredible drama of the wild unfold before you. The Serengeti is a place of epic scale and timeless beauty, and you’ll have two full days to immerse your family in its wonders. You will be staying at the Sound of Silence, an accommodation that offers a truly intimate connection with nature, allowing you to fall asleep to the sounds of the African bush.

Day 4: A Full Day in the Serengeti
With a full day ahead of you, your guide will take you deeper into the Serengeti. The schedule is flexible, centered around your family’s interests and the movements of the animals. You might find a pride of lions lounging under an acacia tree, or witness the majestic sight of giraffes gracefully Browse. Your guide’s expertise will lead you to the best viewing spots, ensuring every moment is a photo opportunity and a learning experience. This second day allows for a more relaxed pace, letting you truly appreciate the scale and beauty of the Serengeti and its diverse inhabitants.

Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater
Leaving the Serengeti behind, you will make your way towards the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The main event of the day is the descent into the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site often called “Africa’s Eden.” The crater floor is a self-contained ecosystem, teeming with an incredible density of wildlife. As you drive into the crater, you’ll be awestruck by the sheer numbers of animals living in this natural caldera. Expect to see large herds of wildebeest and zebra, alongside hippo, elephants, and hopefully, the elusive black rhino. After a breathtaking day of exploration, you will return to the comfortable Marera Valley Lodge for the night, sharing stories of the incredible sights you’ve seen.

Day 6: Lake Manyara National Park and Departure
On your final day, your journey takes you to the enchanting Lake Manyara National Park. This park is a jewel, known for its diverse habitats, including a vast soda lake home to thousands of flamingos. A morning game drive here offers a different kind of safari experience. You might spot the park’s famous tree-climbing lions (a rare sight to behold), as well as playful baboons and a great variety of other wildlife. It’s the perfect conclusion to your safari. After your game drive, you will enjoy a final delicious lunch before beginning your journey back to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) for your departure, your heart full of memories from your extraordinary Tanzanian adventure.
