Day by day
Day 1: Lake manyara national park.
Your 5-day Tanzania safari will begin with a drive to Lake Manyara National Park, a small but impressive park with a high level of ecological diversity. There are a few parks where tree-climbing lions can be seen, and the large flocks of flamingos that frequent the park, tinting the shore pink, are a highlight.
It is one of Tanzania’s most scenic parks, with contrasting landscapes of groundwater forests, open savanna, and the Rift Valley escarpment. During your game drive, you may encounter elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, hippos, and primates such as blue monkeys and olive baboons.
You spend the day watching wildlife and then return to Marera Valley Lodge, nestled deep in the green hills of Karatu. The lodge provides a relaxing experience. You can rest here before continuing on to your next adventure.

Day 2: Serengeti National Park
You then travel north to the Serengeti, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the world’s most well-known wildlife reserves. The Serengeti is associated with vast savannas dotted with acacia trees, dramatic predator-prey interactions, and the mythical Great Migration. Depending on the season, you may see thousands of wildebeests and zebras crossing the plains, accompanied by lions, cheetahs, and hyenas.
Elephants, giraffes, leopards, buffalo, and thousands of bird species can all be found in the park. In the evening, you will camp at Zuri Camps, a small tented camp that is both comfortable and true to safari style. The location allows you to be close to nature while also enjoying friendly service and delicious cuisine.

Day 3: Serengeti National Park
One day in the Serengeti allows you to explore the park’s center. Game drives in the morning and afternoon highlight the diversity of life that thrives here.
The majority of predators are most active in the early morning, making sunrise drives extremely rewarding. Lion herds, leopards in the trees, and cheetahs roam the plains. The Serengeti is also a popular birdwatching destination, with kori bustards, secretary birds, and colorful rollers to be seen.
The park’s enormity will ensure that each drive is unique; it could be elephants congregating at a waterhole or a herd of buffalo racing across the horizon. Your day has been rewarding, and you will spend another night at Zuri Camps beneath the African sky.

Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater
The Ngorongoro Crater, also known as the World’s Eighth Wonder, is today’s highlight. It is the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera, measuring approximately 19 kilometers in diameter and more than 600 meters deep. It is a closed ecosystem with an incredible concentration of wildlife, making it one of the best places in Africa to see a lot of wildlife in one day.
Once down in the crater, you’ll see herds of grazing wildebeests, zebras, and gazelles, as well as carnivores like lions and hyenas. It is also one of the few places where you can see the endangered black rhinoceros. With its grasslands, freshwater lakes, and swamps, the landscape is just as intriguing as the wildlife. You spend the entire day exploring before returning to Marera Valley Lodge in Karatu to relax and prepare to recount the day’s sights.

Day 5: Tarangire National Park
On the last day of your safari, you will visit Tarangire National Park, which is home to elephant herds and baobab trees. Tarangire is particularly impressive during the dry season, when animals congregate around the Tarangire River.
Elephants are shown digging for water in the riverbeds, surrounded by zebras, wildebeests, and antelope. Birdlife is also a major draw in this park, with over 500 species recorded, including the spectacular yellow-collared lovebird and the lilac-breasted roller.
Tarangire’s scenery is interspersed with massive baobabs and acacia trees, creating a distinct view from the other parks. When your final game drive is finished, your guide will drop you off in Arusha, and your 5 Day Tanzania Safari with Kiwoito Africa Safaris will be over.
