You begin your adventure by arriving in Arusha, which is the location of Tanzania’s northern safari circuit. Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be privately transferred to the Tulia Boutique Hotel, which is a tranquil location with lush green vegetation. Use the afternoon to unwind, perhaps with a cold Kilimanjaro beer or a walk around the grounds to alleviate jet lag.
Arusha’s cool climate makes it one of the best places to unwind during your vacation, and if you’re feeling curious, you can take a quick tour of a local craft market to admire Maasai beadwork or sample some local delicacies like mandazi. This easygoing start foreshadows the wild days to come.

Take a trip to Tarangire national park, just a few minutes drive off Arusha town, which has huge baobab trees and herds of wildlife elephants. The Tarangire River is a year round attraction of wildlife particularly during the dry season when the zebras, giraffes and antelopes flock water holes in large numbers.
Lions preying or unusual encounters such as the fringe-eared oryx may be seen during your game drive, as well as more than 500 species of birds would be infusing colors along the way.
Guides also explain how the ecosystem in the park survives despite being poached, in which conservation efforts are more deeply appreciated. In the evening, arrive at a small lodge, Country Lodge, in Karatu, an excellent place to stay where you are likely to see the most impressive highland scenery, and have a dinner of nyama choma (grilled meat) and reminisce about what you have seen today.
Accommodation: Country Lodge at Karatu
Meal: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Bliss in Tanzania’s legendary Serengeti National Park, known for its vast plains and mythical migrations. Within an hour of Tarangire, you are in the savanna, which is followed by a game drive in the morning to track down the area’s predators, such as leopards in the acacia trees and cheetahs in the grasslands.
During various seasons, you may also see wildebeest herds roaring past, demonstrating nature’s sheer strength. Afternoon picnic lunches are served in shaded kopjes, while guides explain how community-led projects are encroaching on this habitat. You will stay at Into Wild Camp, where tented suites combine rustic with solar-powered comforts and nightly campfires where guests can discuss Maasai land customs.
Accommodation: Into the wild Africa
Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Visit the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a natural wonder rich in wildlife. This prehistoric volcanic crater is alive with activity, including grazing black rhinos and hyenas in the morning.
A full-day drive will take you through a variety of ecosystems, including soda lakes, grasslands, and forests populated by flamingos and elusive servals. As your guide will explain, the crater’s fertile soils support an incredible number of animals, and each minute is a spectacle in its own right.
Spend the night at the Return to Tulia Boutique Hotel in Arusha, where a familiar room and a quick massage will help you unwind after a day of adventures.
Accommodation: Country Lodge at Karatu

Take a flight to Zanzibar and spend time at Nungwi Beach Resort, where the sand is powdery and the water is crystal clear. Nungwi is located at the northern end of the island and is a tropical paradise, with oceanfront villas providing direct access to the vibrant coral reefs. Mornings are ideal for snorkeling with tropical fish or seeing sea turtles, as well as taking in the marine biodiversity that is so important to local livelihoods.
Afternoons are ideal for exploring spice farms, where you can smell fresh cloves and taste vanilla, as part of Zanzibar’s history as a global trading center that shaped Swahili culture. Evenings bring dhow cruises and seafood dinners with octopus curry, a starlit sky, and locals telling stories about sustainable tourism.
Spend those days relaxing, perhaps doing yoga on the beach, visiting a nearby village, or simply resting on the beach; this will provide a refreshing end to your journey.
This trip provides the ideal balance of a thrilling safari with leisurely days on the island, based on reliable paths and rooted in ethical wildlife observance and community involvement.
Bring clothing that can be worn in all seasons in Tanzania, as well as sunscreen and travel insurance for added protection. Tanzania and Zanzibar are two places that reward adventurers with memories that will last a lifetime.
To make the most of it, book during shoulder seasons like June or September, when there are fewer crowds and better weather.
