After breakfast in Arusha, you depart early for Lake Manyara National Park, located about 2.5–3 hours west of Arusha. This day offers an excellent introduction to Tanzania’s diverse wildlife and landscapes on a budget-friendly safari.
As you descend the Great Rift Valley escarpment, breathtaking panoramic views of the lake and surrounding forests open up. Lake Manyara is famous for its tree-climbing lions, large herds of elephants, and abundant birdlife. You will enjoy a full-day game drive through varied habitats: dense acacia woodland, open savannah, and the alkaline lake shores.

Today, you’ll depart after breakfast and drive toward the world-renowned Serengeti National Park. Along the way, you’ll pass through the scenic highlands and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, with a chance to spot Maasai villages and their herds along the way.
As you enter the Serengeti, the landscape opens into the classic savannah, golden grasslands stretching as far as the eye can see. You’ll enjoy an afternoon game drive in this legendary park, which is home to the Big Five and the Great Migration. After your drive, you’ll head to your lodge in the Serengeti for a night under the African stars.
Accommodation: Tukaone Serengeti Camp

Wake up early to the sounds of nature, ready to explore more of the Serengeti. With a full day dedicated to game viewing, you’ll cover different areas of the park in search of wildlife. Lions, cheetahs, hyenas, giraffes, elephants, hippos, and countless antelope species roam freely across these plains.
Depending on the season, you might witness the dramatic movements of the Great Migration, millions of wildebeest and zebra moving in search of water and grazing. Enjoy a packed lunch in the bush before continuing your game drive into the afternoon. In the evening, return to your accommodation for dinner and relaxation.

After breakfast, you’ll leave Serengeti and travel to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The drive offers beautiful views of the surrounding highlands, and once you arrive at the crater rim, the sight is truly breathtaking.
You’ll descend 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater for a half-day game drive on the crater floor. This unique ecosystem is home to an incredible concentration of wildlife, including rhinos, lions, elephants, and a large population of hippos around the central lake. It’s one of the few places in Africa where you can see all of the Big Five in a single day. After your safari, ascend back up and travel to your lodge outside the conservation area for the night.
Accommodation: Ikumbi Lodge
Meal Plan: Full Board

After your safari experience in the Ngorongoro Crater, you’ll leave the highlands and head east to Tarangire National Park (about a 3-4 hour drive). This day provides a beautiful contrast, moving from the dramatic crater to the traditional baobab. The studded savannah of Tarangire.
Tarangire is known as the “Elephant Paradise” and is an excellent way to end your safari. The park’s iconic ancient baobab trees and the Tarangire River create a breathtaking setting, especially during the dry season, when wildlife congregates along the river. Following this safari, you will begin your journey back to Arusha for departure.

The best time to visit Tanzania is during the dry season from June to October, when wildlife is easier to spot around water sources and the weather is pleasant. Another excellent period is December to February, especially for the wildebeest calving season in the Serengeti and lush green landscapes. Avoid the long rainy season (March to May) if possible, although it offers lower rates and fewer crowds.
Yes, there is a very good chance of seeing the Big Five (lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, and rhino). Tarangire offers excellent elephant and buffalo sightings, the Serengeti is great for lions and leopards, and Ngorongoro Crater provides high possibilities for all five, especially black rhinos. Your experienced guide will work hard to maximize your sightings.
